Shockwave Therapy

Living with chronic pain can significantly impact your daily life, from sports and hobbies to your professional job.

When traditional therapies don't provide the relief you need, Shockwave Therapy offers a proven, non-surgical alternative.

Shockwave therapy uses high-energy audible sound waves to target damaged tissues, stimulating the body's natural healing process. This clinically proven treatment works by reducing pain, increasing blood flow to the affected area and activating the body's self-healing mechanisms.

It's a highly effective and safe treatment, approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

What is
Shockwave Therapy?

The sound of healing

Shockwave therapy can effectively treat a wide range of chronic conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Achilles tendonitis

  • Plantar fasciitis (heel and foot pain)

  • Shin splints

  • Patellar tendonitis (knee pain)

  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome (hip pain)

  • Back pain

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathies (shoulder pain)

  • Tennis and golfer's elbow

During a session, you may experience some initial discomfort but this quickly subsides as the therapy has a natural analgesic (pain-relieving) effect.

Clinical data shows that over 90% of patients report a reduction in pain, with improvements often continuing for up to 8 weeks after a course of treatment.

A typical course involves an average of six treatments, spaced 3 to 10 days apart. A minimum of three sessions is recommended, with a maximum of nine.

For new patients, your first session will take up to 30 minutes, followed thereafter by 20 minute sessions. We ask that the first three treatments are block booked and paid for together.

To ensure the best results, it's important to avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours after each treatment.

Additionally, please do not use anti-inflammatory drugs or ice on the treated area, as this can interfere with the healing process.
